EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS

 

Executive Producer Eric Overmyer is the creator, executive producer, and writer of the lauded Amazon detective series Bosch and its sequel Bosch: Legacy. Overmyer worked as the showrunner and writer for the third season of the Amazon series Man in the High Castle.  With writer/producer David Simon, Overmyer co-created and co-produced Treme, and worked as a producer and writer on Simon’s critically acclaimed television series The Wire.  He also served as the co-executive producer and as a writer on the fourth season of HBO’s popular series Boardwalk Empire.  Overmyer’s other television writing and producing credits include Law and Order, Homicide: Life on the Street, and St. Elsewhere, and Gideon’s Crossing. Overmyer is the author of numerous plays, including Dark Rapture, In a Pig’s Valise, In Perpetuity Throughout the Universe, Mi Vida Loca, Native Speech, and On the Verge.

 

 

Executive Producer Charles Burnett is widely regarded as “the godfather of Black cinema.”  His first film Killer of Sheep was hailed by New York Times film critic Manohla Dargis as “a masterpiece, independent to the bone.” He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including: the prestigious MacArthur “genius grant,” Rockefeller and J.P. Getty Foundation grants, The National Film Critics award for best screenplay, and the Horton Foote Screenwriting Award.  Both Killer of Sheep and To Sleep with Anger were declared national treasures by the United States Library of Congress, and selected for collection in its National Registry. In November 2006, a retrospective of Charles Burnett’s films was presented at the Louvre in Paris.  In April 2011 a retrospective of Burnett’s work was held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.  In 2017 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science awarded Burnett an honorary Oscar.
